About
Steffen Richter is an electrical engineer working for Harvard University. His job is to run the BICEP 2 telescope at the Geographic South Pole during the Austral winter. In previous assignments he has taken care of BICEP 1, AMANDA, IceCube, SPASE, VULCAN and a few other experiments. Since 1997 he has spent about 8 years at the Geographic South Pole.
When not at the Pole he enjoys life and can be found in some remote corner of our beautiful planet.
In a time long before Facebook and Google+ this site was conceived to keep in touch with family and friends. Other than the weather page it is no longer maintained but the old posts are for you to enjoy.
